The legal advice section of our website
continues to grow more and more as Neighborhood Councils become
increasingly active in resolving issues in their community.
Some of those issues have resulted in a need for clarification
from the City Attorney's Office. The following are some of the
issues that the City Attorney has clarified.
Americans with Disabilities Act - Neighborhood Councils
must follow the Americans With Disability Act. The City Attorney
explains this law and how Neighborhood Councils must comply
with it.
Brown Act - This set of legal advice attempts to tackle
many issues regarding the Brown Act. It explains various aspects
of the Brown Act and how Neighborhood Councils must function
